Ken Weingardt, Ph.D.
I'm Ken Weingardt, a Licensed Psychologist and Natural Medicine Facilitator in Training located in Boulder CO. I earned my PhD in Clinical Psychology from the University of Washington where I specialized in treating addictive behaviors. I have been a Professor of Psychiatry at Stanford and Northwestern Medical Schools and served in the Department of Veterans Affairs for nearly 20 years, where I trained residents and postdoctoral fellows in evidence-based psychotherapies.
After my own profound psychedelic experience in 2020, I decided to pivot my career from behavioral health technology to natural medicine, and moved from Silicon Valley to Boulder to pursue this passion. I have since obtained certification from the Integrative Psychiatry Institute as a Psychedelic Assisted Therapist, and am licensed as a Natural Medicine Facilitator in Training. In addition to my psychotherapy and psilocybin facilitation practice, I am the Director of Training and Education for Heroic Hearts Project, a nonprofit organization that focuses on helping veterans gain access to psychedelic healing.
I keep up on the current research on psychedelic assisted therapy, and incorporate the best practices and lessons learned from scientists and clinicians at major universities around the world into my work with clients here in Colorado. I also recognize that healing doesn’t often come in a nice neat treatment protocol. I am deeply invested in building a partnership with my clients based on caring, trust, empathy and acceptance. My warm, caring and attuned presence creates a container that holds and organizes the client’s experience, welcoming whatever emerges.
