Michael Baime, M.D.
Dr. Baime is a Clinical Associate Professor of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine and Director of both the Penn Program for Mindfulness and the Mind-Body Programs for the Abramson Cancer Center at Penn Medicine. He has been the recipient of the Provost’s Award for Distinguished Teaching at the University of Pennsylvania and the 2016 Award for Distinguished Contributions in Behavioral Medicine from the American College of Physicians. Dr. Baime’s research interests include the impact of mindfulness-based training at the worksite; the behavioral and neural changes associated with meditation practice; the use of mindfulness in a medical setting; and the impact of mindfulness practices on empathy, burnout, and patient safety for health care professionals.
Since 1992, the Penn Program for Mindfulness has trained more than 25,000 people in mindfulness-based stress management. At Penn, Dr. Baime has developed and led numerous courses on mindfulness meditation and mind-body medicine.
