How do I decide whether the Private Program or a retreat experience is right for me?

We invite you to compare the experiences here. If you’re still unsure, you can discuss this with a member of Odyssey during an exploratory call.

The choice between a private or group psilocybin experience depends on your intentions, preferences, and priorities.

The main advantages of a private session are more personalized, one-on-one time with a licensed facilitator, allowing for more individualized attention and support. This includes more time to connect and build trust with your facilitator before the journey, more time to work on integration with your facilitator post-journey, and receiving your facilitator’s full and unwavering attention during the journey itself. A private session may be the better option if you expect to be working through challenging psychological and emotional material during your journey, or simply would prefer more privacy and regular support.

The advantages of a group retreat include the opportunity to connect with like-minded others, to share in the experience with a sense of community, and to take time away from your ordinary surroundings in a curated retreat setting. An Odyssey retreat includes hospitality elements (accommodations, meals, concierge services) and pre- and post-psilocybin journey group programming that a private session does not. While each participant’s psilocybin journey on a retreat is inwardly focused, sharing the retreat experience with a group can be a unique opportunity to lean into the joyous and connective aspects of psilocybin.

Why does psilocybin administration have to take place at licensed service/healing centers?

State regulations require legal psilocybin sessions to take place at licensed service centers (Oregon) or healing centers (Colorado) under the supervision of a trained facilitator. These spaces are licensed by the state and designed to provide a safe, comfortable, and carefully prepared environment, with appropriate protocols in place to support participants throughout their experience.

How does Odyssey select which service/healing centers to partner with to host it's sessions?

Odyssey has assessed every licensed service center and healing center in Oregon and Colorado and chosen to partner with only those that meet our exceptionally high standards for safety, comfort, professionalism, and client experience. We evaluate factors such as the quality of the physical environment, operational excellence, cleanliness, privacy, and overall alignment with our values to ensure every client has the safest and most supportive experience possible.

How does psilocybin administration work on retreats?

On the day of your psilocybin administration (often referred to as your "journey"), you'll travel with your group to one of our close-by partner service/healing centers, where you'll be supported by your retreat facilitators throughout the 6–8 hour experience before returning to the retreat venue.

The exception is retreats held at Fernlove in Oregon. Fernlove is currently the only retreat venue in the United States that is also licensed as a psilocybin service center, allowing your administration to take place onsite without the need to travel.
