It allowed me to release a lot of emotions that I've never fully let go of, which has provided immense relief. The emotions are still there, but they don't seem to have the same hold over me that they once did. All the facilitators were kind, understanding and very helpful. I did like that Paulo is a psychiatrist since I'm on some medications that could have influenced my experience, so having that piece of mind was nice. I loved the group setting. Connecting with people from all different backgrounds and realizing that we all have different yet sometimes similar things we're dealing with really brought me some comfort. The house we stayed in was also amazing and relaxing.
My experience at Odyssey was deeply personal, physical, emotional, and spiritual. Self-reflection was intense and extremely meaningful. Every moment from arrival until departure felt like it was created and shaped for each one of us individually, despite being in a group. What I learned about myself over the course of a few days will continue to serve me throughout my life. Paulo was exceptional and I am so thankful that he was the one to lead our group. His compassion, understanding, and expertise were incredible. The fact that he reached out to me within a few days after the group concluded to see how I was doing was completely unexpected and appreciated! He recalled so many details I had shared, which showed how much he genuinely cared. He is a gifted psychiatrist and facilitator.
