"The combining of a silent retreat with a high dose psilocybin session, as was recently done in the study Roland [Griffiths] referenced, seems like a great idea. If human history bends in the direction it should, there will be retreat centers set up to do that sort of thing."

- Sam Harris

Program

This retreat will embrace the programming and contemplative nature of a traditional meditation retreat, complemented by legal psilocybin experiences. Recent research highlights the powerful synergy between psychedelics and meditation, showing that their combination can enhance mental clarity, emotional healing, and personal growth. Psychedelics can deepen meditation practice, while meditation helps integrate psychedelic experiences and sustain their benefits. Together, they offer a promising new path for training the mind and improving well-being.

Cost Transparency

Offering a retreat within the U.S. legal framework, while providing the level of support we believe is essential, is costly. We aim for a 30% margin, which we believe strikes a fair balance between sustainability and making the experience as accessible as possible. We also offer a range of rooms at different price points to help make the retreat more affordable.

Note: unlike traditional meditation retreats, where teacher compensation (dana) is offered voluntarily at the end, we ask for all contributions up front. Participants are in an emotionally open state after a psilocybin experience, and we believe it is inappropriate to request donations at this time. All teacher compensation is therefore included in the retreat cost.

Service Center

On the journey day, we'll travel to Fernlove, a nearby, licensed service center. State regulations require that the psilocybin session take place at a licensed service center, and we have hand-picked the most comfortable and trustworthy centers in the state.

Fernlove is truly one-of-a-kind — the only licensed service center in the state nestled deep within nature. Surrounded by sprawling acres of lush forest, healing and transformation unfold in the heart of the wilderness. Note that the psilocybin session itself takes place in remodeled accessory building (not outdoors).

Research

In a double-blind study, meditation retreat participants received either a dose of psilocybin or a placebo on day 4 of the retreat. During the retreat, participants who received psilocybin reported greater meditation depth and higher levels of state mindfulness. Four months after the retreat, the psilocybin group had significantly higher scores for: appreciation for life, self-acceptance, quest for meaning/sense of purpose, and appreciation of death.

Meditation and Psilocybin

What Our clients say

Odyssey is a great place for someone hesitant about psilocybin/psychedelics/magic mushrooms. The environment and staff are welcoming and I really felt cared for. It felt like a very safe, controlled environment for someone that is interested in experiencing the healing power of psilocybin.

Emily, Odyssey retreat participant
Odyssey retreat participant, October 2025

It was more than a retreat. It was a sanctuary for the soul. All three facilitators were approachable, professional, and made it such a warm and comfortable environment which is key when being so vulnerable. I liked that there was preparation leading up to the retreat where you got to meet the all the facilitators and participants on zoom not once but twice. It increased the level of comfort when you finally got to meet in person. I also enjoyed all the additional activities of hiking, yoga, poetry, and meditation. And I appreciate the post integration meetings as well to feel fully supported.

Connie, Odyssey retreat participant
Odyssey retreat participant, October 2025

I feel like Odyssey is the only way to do this experience. It's 5-star, professional, and safe. I thought I wouldn't like the group, but it turned out to be one of the most important things about my journey. The accommodations were lovely. The facilitators were amazing. The actual psychedelic journey was very professionally managed and I appreciated the integration days that followed as it proved essential to getting the most from the experience.
